Mobile Section AGC Awards Scholarship to
AGC-USA Student Chapter Member

 


Mobile Section, AlabamaAGC recently awarded a $1,000. Scholarship to Bennett Dulaney, a member of the AGC Student Chapter and a  Civil Engineering student at USA.  Dulaney  has served as an officer for the
AGC student Chapter over the past year and will serve as President
during the 2011-2012 year. 

The AGC-USA Student Chapter is made up of engineering students from
Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical.

Mobile Section, AGC will  make this scholarship available to a deserving member of the AGC student chapter on an annual basis.

AGC-USA Student Chapter - Articles of Purpose

 

ARTICLE I – STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

To promote professional comradeship among the Engineering/Business students at the University of South Alabama with the members of Alabama AGC.

 ARTICLE II- ORGANIZATION

 Section 1: Name

The organization is a student chapter of the Alabama Associated General Contractors of America, Inc.  The name of this organization shall be:

AGC Student Engineers and Constructors.

 Section 2:  Objectives

 The objectives of the University of South Alabama chapter shall be:

·        To instill in Engineering students an understanding and appreciation of the aims and ideals of the construction discipline.

·        To organize an effective program of extracurricular activities. 

·        To explore the basis and principles of construction.

·        To offer networking and mentoring opportunities with local construction and engineering companies.

 ARTICLE III- MEMBERSHIP        

 Section 1:   Members

All Students registered in the College of Engineering, shall be eligible for membership and /or any student interested in the objectives and aims of the AGC Student Engineers and Constructors.

Shelby Hall Engineering Building
Groundbreaking Ceremony - September 14, 2009

 

Congratulations to USA's College of Engineering  as they break ground on their new home:  Shelby Hall.  During the ground breaking ceremony, appreciation was extended to Senator Shelby, Congressman Bonner and all who have helped make this a building become a reality

2011 AGC-USA Student Chapter Tour of Shelby Hall

 

 The AGC-USA Student Chapter was treated to a tour of the new Shelby Hall Engineering Building which is being constructed by Elkins Constructors, Inc.    Several students and faculty attended.   Appreciation is extended to Matthew Wozniak  with Elkins Constructors, Inc. who provided the tour.   The building is scheduled to be completed in 2012.
